Go All the Way (Into the Twilight)

The room was clammy and stuffy. It had a slight smell of sweat because of all the bodies crammed together in motion. The lights flashed an array of different colors and from different spots. Music was loud and the speakers made the beat seem to make the room alive. The speakers vibrated with the loud pulsing music and seemed to make the floor and walls move with it.

There were so many people there looking for just one person almost seemed impossible as faces blurred with one another. The music seeming to give me a nice kick of adrenaline and I felt an urge to move my body with it as well. Just as soon as I was in the room, bodies moved against mine. It was a matter of seconds before I had about three glow sticks around my neck and many more on my wrists and even a few in my hands.

I looked around, still unsure on how I acquired all these things as I began to remember why I was here. My eyes scanned the room but I soon became distracted again. I felt someone wrap their arms around me and pull me into the beat with their body. I hesitated not wanting to dance, but at the same time I did. I pulled away and moved deeper in the crowd. I didn't belong here and I knew it.

I looked around again when I saw her and I tensed. The speakers were louder here and the beat seemed to slam against by body. She was holding an older teen by his shirt, that was mostly unbuttoned. Her body moved easily with the beat and the boy almost made no effort as his body moved with hers. His darker cream skin made her pale skin almost seem to glow.

"Natalie!" I shouted over the music, my voice almost having no effect. "NATALIE!" I screamed and she and the boy looked up a surprised look that had a bit of fear in it. I walked over "Can I talk to you?" I asked her.

The boy moved in front of her protectively. "She's taken." He said wrapping an arm around her.

"It's not about relationship statues." I growled annoyed. The boy glared at me sizing me up until she put a hand on his shoulder turning him to her.

"Don't worry, babe, let's talk to him and then we'll get back to dancing." She said softly before moving closer to me, with him following closely behind her.

"I guess alone is too much to ask for?" I asked glancing at him once more.

"He will stay." She said and I sighed.

"Fine whatever...ummm....where do I start?" I hesitated "Okay, what if I told you your brother's alive?"

"I don't have a brother..." she said but her stance changed and a flicker of emotion ran across her face.

"Yes you do. He's two years older than you, and your mother gave him up for adoption after four months."

"She always said it was the biggest mistake she made in her life..." She mumbled and shook her head realizing she contradicted herself. "Where is he?!"

"Terrance? Well, I'm right here in front of you." I asked with a faint smile. She stared at me in shock.

"N-no....Mother always shown me pictures and you had blond hair...." She said sounding like she didn't believe me. I frowned and sighed.

"I did have blonde hair...but, it changed color-" She had her arms around me in a tight hug now.

"I never thought I'd ever see you or meet you!" She said close to tears. Her boyfriend glared at me distastefully.

"Um, why don't we go somewhere....with less noise for me to explain?" I asked. She nodded and then we left, moving past the crowd of teens towards the exit. With her boyfriend, I should and, and I have a feeling he liked me just as much as I liked him.
